The website is always changing, so please do look at it regularly.
Please note that if you search for Yeovil u3a, it comes up as ‘Chesterfield’.
However it is Yeovil. Just click on the link and you will get to our website. This is happening for all u3as and the web designers are trying to fix it.
GROUPS
Interest has been shown in our two new groups, Spanish and Digital Tech/AI Appreciation. We will be working towards getting these started. If you are interested in
either of these groups and have not registered your interest, you can do so by emailing yeovilu3a@gmail.com
VENUES
Groups can meet in a member’s home and we are investigating the kind offer from West Abbey Care Home to use their room for free. If your numbers increase discuss with Paula the use of the SSC.
The new venue at The Old Barn was a great success for the skittles, and The Prince of Wales on Ham Hill was very kind not to charge us for the two meals ordered by members who did not turn up for the lunch.
BLACKPOOL HOLIDAY
This was a great success, glorious weather and beautiful scenery, thank you Maggi for all your hard work

April 2024 letter from the Chair
Dear members of the Yeovil u3a
AGM
This is on Friday 3rd May. Please come to this important meeting, when the Committee will be voted on and important announcements made.
NEW WEBSITE
We mentioned at the last monthly meeting that we were creating a new website as required by Third Age Trust.
The old style website is being discontinued.
You can see the new website by clicking on https://yeovil.u3asite.uk/
We will no longer be able to produce a monthly schedule of events but it is very easy to see what is on in any group by clicking on to the group page. https://yeovil.u3asite.uk/groups/ or non group events at https://yeovil.u3asite.uk/events/
This will be kept up to date based on the information provided by group leaders.
There will also be more notices which will advise on any changes such as cancellations or advise of new events. https://yeovil.u3asite.uk/home/
If you need to contact a group leader, you can do so from the group page and click on the group you need to contact
NON-IT MEMBERS
There are 18 members who do not have access to a computer themselves, so please Group Leaders and friends make sure they are kept informed and up to date with events.
SILVER LININGS
This is going digital. Jan has returned the members contributions to the contributors, so please could you send them back to the Committee, so that we can correlate them for the online format.
We are also looking for a member who can act as digital editor for Silver Linings.
Thank you so much.
MISSING MOUSE
The mouse is missing for the SSC. Please return.
Also there is now a new lead there for Internet connection.
TRIPS
A superb trip to the Donkey Sanctuary and the Garden Centre. Thank you Maggi for arranging it. The other 2 day trips are full. I’m so looking forward to Blackpool.
SKITTLES
This is on Tuesday April 23rd at 6.30 at the Labour Club. Please note no food is available there. Maggi is checking out different locations for suitability.
Take care, best wishes,
Hilary.
